Josh Perry, a year-old former marketer and Otago Polytechnic graduate, will next month launch a dating website called Enabling Love. The site, which Perry hopes will soon also be available as an app for mobile devices, will be primarily aimed at disabled people. Non-disabled people are invited to join if they’re open to dating disabled people, reports The Wireless.

I think it’s important that everyone has confidence, no matter what their background is and no matter what their disability is. He says the modern world is a difficult place for disabled people to date. He plans to include information on accessible dating locations on Enabling Love.

Josh was born in Canterbury and moved to Dunedin after the earth quakes where he studied at Otago Polytechnic, completing a Diploma in Marketing and Communications. Josh is well connected with other members of the NZ Disability community and after hearing a need for more social inclusive opportunities for people with a disability to meet others he put his marketing and innovative mind to use.

Enabling Love runs a website that hosts an introduction service and is complemented by the running of various social events, for example cocktail parties, speed dating, movie nights and more! Through Enabling Love events and the sites profile matching system numerous friendships have been created and two couples have formed. In the meantime he is working with a number of Disability Agencies throughout New Zealand to gather support and is focusing on getting Dating Education Courses launched this year.
